This place is amazing. It's my first time in rehab and this place has given me lots of hope for my recovery journey.98% of the staff are recovering addicts. With that, this is a no judgement zone for addicts and the staff really understands us on a deep level. My only complaint is the phone time allowed to call family. 3 15 minute calls a week is not enough. Cardinal has made me stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually. The case managers also help you set up for success on your release by staying in touch with your employer, and looking for therapists, and housing upon release. I recommend Cardinal to any addict seeking recovery.

The people are great , food is good. But the facilities are falling apart. Heat never works, was in the cold my entire stay in December , and had to endure sexual harassment from other residents, Without any help from staff. I only give 2 stars because I’m sober today. But if I had the choice again I would go to a different place. *2-14-26 Edited for the owner of Cardinal I don’t want to speak with anyone from Cardinal privately, you or your staff Jenna especially didn’t take anything I had to say seriously.

This has been a long road to get the help I needed, but landing @ Cardinal recovery is one of the best things that have happened to me and my recovery. The building may not be that of a mansion but every need is met. The chef and cooks make sure we eat extremely well. The Behavior Health techs, (BHT's) , though are here to monitor us, they play a huge role in out progress. They are all amazing and they honestly do care while trying to keep us in line with the program. Even though at times you might get frustrated, just remember, they are only here to help us get well. Every staff has a story and if you get to know them you will learn that. The nurses are the most caring group of folks I've ever encountered. When it comes to the facilitators, be honest with them, honesty will make your recovery foundation stronger than you would ever hope. They will listen and help you with every need, shortcoming, misunderstood preconceived notion and the why's of why we are the way we are. Just give them a chance and you won't regret it. As for the case management staff and all those white collar gavel handlers, aka executive management, they actually care. Though you may not seem to see them very often, they do care. They will fulfill any need that is reasonable. They listen to opinions and feedback seriously and try to implement and apply anything that makes sense. I can't say enough about this place. They are considered part of my extended family and dear friends. Thank you Cardinal for my new beginning and you will always have a special place in my heart.

The food was the best part about this place.

BHT’s - some were super kind and easy to talk to, others were still nice but not very inviting. All the BHT’s did things differently. They didn’t all operate on one set of rules, which made it frustrating. Ex. One BHT would allow you to have 2 vapes, another wouldn’t. One BHT would wake you up at 7:15, another at 7:30, and another at 8.
There was no fluidity in how they operated. At most times there would be no BHT in detox, for 30 mins to 1 hour.
Nursing - AMAZING 10/10
Schedule - if you don’t want to sit in a classroom from 9 AM - 3:30 PM EVERYDAY with about 30-45 mins between each group, then this isn’t the place for you! Even the weekends, GROUP!

We had a terrible experience. After speaking with a representative on the phone, I was so hopeful that my son would finally get the help he needs. We explained his situation and plan were told they accept Anthem insurance, and based on that, we drove all the way there. But when we arrived, we were suddenly informed that they do not accept his Anthem plan — and that we’d have to pay $30,000 out of pocket for a one-month stay. No one mentioned this beforehand when we discussed insurance. We left heartbroken, without options, and feeling completely misled.

I had reached the end of my rope before I came here to zinnia Indiana . Emotionally and mentally exhausted. Physically drained and just felt so hopeless. I wanted to go to sleep and never wake up again . I wasn’t planning to find the level of care and help that I have found here . The structural environment and the peers I came to know and love totally saved my life. I met many people from different circumstances that I had so much in common with. We were actually taught how to heal and love ourselves most for the first time ever . I’m taking ownership of my actions with integrity and leaving with an extended family for the rest of my life . The staff was amazing. I learned so much and am excited to see what my new life is going to look like. The facility needs some updating, deep cleaning and repairs. The men and women are NOT split into 2 areas so if you are not comfortable being in a bedroom right next door to 3 guys in a room you may want to reconsider. Also, the bedrooms, bathrooms and showers are all shared. Of course split by sex but I thought I would a least be getting my own room, which was not the case.

Zinnia South Bend is one of a kind when it comes to treatment & recovery. The staff are amazing from detox, to meeting all our needs throughout. The Food is amazing. I would not go anywhere else. Cardinal Recovery is hands down thee best! Everyone is very welcoming, caring, loving and compassionate. The houses are really nice and clean. I didn't want to leave! They give you a weekly allowance to order groceries. Which is great. The facilitators made the groups enjoyable and interesting and gave me the tools I needed in sobriety. This place let me down tremendously. They falsely discharged me under the pretenses that i tested positive for pretty much everything… Refused to let me see my own test results nor retest. They immediately kicked me out and rushed me out the entire time i was trying to pack up. i even addressed this with their alumni outreached and they completely ignored the problem. There were drugs constantly being brought into the community/facility and people were constantly high. There are countless opportunities to relapse at this facility. I really loved this place at first. They completely let me down. I’d give it 0 stars if i could. Thanks for nothing.

On 6/26/22, I celebrated my one year of being sober. My journey to soberity started at Cardinal Recovery. The staff, case managers, and therapist's are amazing. They provided me with the tools to use when I left recovery to stay sober. Without the help from Cardinal Recovery, I definitely could not of done this on my own. My journey never ends. I keep on getting stronger. Even when you leave Cardinal the staff keeps in touch with everyone. They also have created a weekly zoom meeting with alumni. Cardinal Recovery is an amazing place for people that are struggling with addiction. Every staff member here made me feel welcome the minute I walked into the building. The facilitators, therapists and techs were caring compassionate and, I felt, genuinely invested in my recovery. I made breakthroughs I thought I would never have thanks to my wonderful therapist Nesetta. My case manager, Greg was a GODSEND! I loved my experience at Cardinal recovery. The staff and techs were absolutely great. My only complaint is that the house manager wasn’t really welcoming or professional with us patients. She made us feel like we were bothersome and not happy with her job. Other than that I would’ve given Cardinal 5 stars. I loved that I didn’t feel “HOSPITALIZED” and I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who are truly looking for recovery .

The staff was so helpful and caring. The guys I stayed with in the campus house ended up with a lifetime brother hood. Everyone here just makes the stay more then just are rehab, but a family environment. I hated the reason I was here, but am so blessed I made this call. Then I walked through the doors and received nothing but love and acceptance not one face judged me and I am so grateful for that. They help me not only start my recovery but they help me find me again they helped me find everything that was lost inside of me. Very nice staff. Doctors and nurse are helpful with medication and physical care. Counselors are compassionate and have helped me to gain insight with my past use. The techs make sure to check up on residents, take them to the store, and coordinate rides to (NA, AA, HA) meetings. I am graduating the program today and plan to continue my recovery 🙂 .

Cardinal is a great place for addiction recovery. The staff here truly care about each individual. The daily classroom sessions are very informative. Case Managers and Therapist are here to help you through the process of recovery but the individual has to be wanting it to exceed in Sobriety. Getting the opportunity to go to outside AA and NA meetings is a huge plus along with the sober activities that are planned for the weekends. I personally feel that Cardinal taught me great tools to use in the next chapter of my life. I strongly recommend Cardinal Recovery for anyone willing to get sober.

This is the only rehab I have been to and my 2nd time in this rehab and I couldn’t be more thankful for them. They have really helped me with understanding my boundaries that I need to have and taught me what it is like to be loved. There is a ton of love in this place from each and every staff member and I couldn’t be more thankful for them. They treated me like family and never judged me once! This was my first rehab facility I've ever been too and honestly I couldn't be more happier with my experience! The staff takes care of you like you're their own. I've built a bond so strong that its like we are family. I'm so grateful for them and wish I could stay longer. The house we were living in felt like home. The techs we had made sure were comfortable at all times. Lets forget they were also wonderful cooks! Within in the last 30 days I became me again. I was already nervous about going to a rehab center in a different state. The call center talked up Cardinal Recovery telling me what they offer. The guy on the phone lied about basically everything. At first everything seemed like it was going to be fine. Soon realized that Cardinal Recovery is only in it for the money. You hardly ever see the therapist one on one. During the day you go to the office and watch YouTube videos most of the time. They don’t offer half of what is listed on the website. They got rid of the house worker that treated us like humans. The rest of the staff treated us like cash cows. The staff would says one thing and it would never happened. The doctor there doesn’t really care or listen. He just pushes anything and everything. Feels like the more he prescribes the more money he’ll make. It’s sad but there’s no recovery at cardinal. I’d definitely go somewhere else if you can. Whoever owns and runs Cardinal Recovery isn’t in it to help people. They’d be way more organized and actually help teach you tools if they were. I can watch YouTube videos at home for free. The staff at night are rude, they were so disrespectful waking us up in the morning. Treated us all like they were better than us. They clearly don’t care if some of the staff is sober. The new guy on nights that started when i was there and one of the girls looked high half they time. They didn’t care what the CDC said at all. They’d take us to meetings full of people. I couldn’t concentrate on what anyone was saying cause I was worried about all the people around me. I hope someone who really cares and understands addiction takes over Cardinal cause they need all the help they can get.
